**** Sorry - sold Out *****
Pukeora Estate Ruahine Range The Benches (Red) 2010 is a full bodied, powerful yet smooth blend of Merlot (45%), Malbec (34%), Cabernet Sauvignon (16%), and Syrah (5%).
It has ripe blackcurrant and plum aromas, followed by harmonious rich fruit flavours and savoury, spice undertones on the palate.
The grapes were handpicked, crushed and fermented with pumping over and hand plunging, then aged for 22 months in French and American oak barriques.
The grapes are grown on our steep north, north-west facing sun baked slopes which have been terraced or benched (hence the name The Benches). The soils are free draining limestone with a clay sub layer. With an elevation of 240m and a latitude of 40o the wine reflects our unique terroir.
